Checking in and out

Check-in Time: 3 p.m.*
Check-out Time: 10 a.m.**

*Most check-ins and check-outs are contactless. Guests will receive a text with check-in instructions to the cell number on the reservation within three days of the beginning of the stay and will include a personal code to access the building.

**Late check-out requests may be accommodated if availability allows, and will incur a $50 fee. 

Cancellation policy

Summer months (May-September): All cancellations must be made in writing seven days prior to the check-in date. No-shows will be charged for the full stay reserved. 

Winter months (October-April): All cancellations must be made in writing at least 24 hours before the check-in date. No-shows will be charged for the first night, with the remaining nights canceled automatically.

Pets

Pets of any kind are not allowed at The Copper Whale Inn. Verified service dogs must be approved before booking. Any guest found to have an animal in their room outside of an approved service dog will be subject to a $500 fine.

Illness

Guests are asked to please wear a tight-fitting mask if experiencing symptoms of any illness. 

Tobacco use and smoking

There is no smoking or tobacco use of any kind, including vaping, on The Copper Whale premises. While marijuana is legal in Alaska, guests must leave the inn's property in order to partake in smoking. Smoking in a guest room or on Copper Whale Inn property is subject to a $500 fine.

Room types and placement

When booking, please specify the number of people and bed configurations desired. If a rollaway or crib is requested, those must be added to the booking at an additional charge. Copper Whale Inn rooms are all unique, and though we take requests for favorite accommodations, specific room assignments cannot be guaranteed.

Accessibility

The Copper Whale Inn has one fully-accessible room, equipped with a roll-in shower, grab bars, and a shower chair. The room does not have steps to access but is located via a steep sloping sidewalk from the front loading area. Guests should inquire about assistance in reaching this room if necessary. 

Parking

There is no on-site parking at The Copper Whale Inn, and there is no parking available behind the property. Cars will be towed. There are public parking lots and a garage within easy reach of the inn. 

Luggage

If arriving before check-in time, or leaving after check-out time, guests are welcome to store luggage in a designated space near the main lobby. This is a free service. If guests need to leave luggage overnight, the charge is $5 per bag, per day.
