Do you have contactless check-in and check-out?

Yes, this form of entry is always available and is automatic for guests arriving or departing when staff are not at the front desk. Instructions for check-in will be texted to guests before arrival, with a door code assigned for easy entry. To check out, guests need only to drop keys in the key box, or leave in the room with the door open.

Is breakfast included?

An expansive continental-style breakfast is included for all guests. During the summer months this buffet is available between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.. In the winter, breakfast is served between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., or may be presented as self-serve with no attendant during quieter times.

What are your policies to prevent the spread of illnesses?

With a recurrence of infectious diseases in the United States, the Copper Whale Inn encourages mask-wearing and isolation by anyone experiencing symptoms of any kind (fever, rash, cough, flu-like symptoms, etc.). If isolation is necessary and there is no availability to extend a stay at the inn, staff can recommend other options. Please be considerate of fellow travelers and staff.

Why are guests required to provide an arrival time and cell number?

As a non-traditional lodging, Copper Whale Inn does not have 24-hour front desk coverage. Though innkeepers are always available for emergencies, guests arrive and depart through individual codes on inn door keypads. To receive a check-in key code individual to each guest, it is required that staff know a general arrival time and have a contact cell number to text the code. Staff also like to know guests have safely arrived at the inn and reached their room with ease.

Does Copper Whale provide luggage storage?

Yes! Locked storage is available for guests at a rate of $5 USD per bag, per day. This charge can either be paid in cash or added to the room charge.

Are there laundry facilities on site?

Copper Whale Inn’s laundry room is available for guest use from 5-10 p.m. daily at a charge of $12 USD for a wash and dry. Soap is provided. Charges can be added to the room charge or via cash if guests have booked their stay through a tour operator.

Is parking available?

Due to the inn’s downtown Anchorage location, there is no on-site parking available. Vehicles parking behind the building will be towed in all circumstances! There is public parking located within easy walking distance of the inn, with pay boxes or a “pay by phone” option. Additionally, the Captain Cook Parking Garage is available one block from the Copper Whale Inn, with payment available upon exit.

What is your cancellation policy?

Summer: cancellation must be made in writing 7 days before check-in. No shows will be charged for the full stay that was reserved. Winter: cancellation must be made in writing at least 24 hours before check-in. No shows will be charged for the first night, and remaining nights will be cancelled automatically.
