pets

Pets are not allowed at the Copper Whale Inn. Please do not bring pets. If you have an animal in your room that is not an approved service animal, you are subject to a $500 fine.

illness

If you have symptoms of any type of contagious illness, please wear a mask in the common areas.

smoking of any kind

There is no smoking, of any kind, anywhere on the Copper Whale Inn premises. Though marijuana is legal in Alaska, you still need to leave the property in order to smoke it. Smoking in your room or on the property is subject to a $500 fine.

room types and placement

When making your booking, please specify number of people and bed configuration desired. If you need a rollaway or crib, those must be added to your booking (additional charge). Our rooms are all unique, and though we take requests for your favorites, specific room assignments are not guaranteed.

accessibility

The Copper Whale has one accessible room with a roll-in shower, grab bars, and shower chair. This room is accessed without steps, but is located down the hill from the only safe loading area on property. Please let us know if you have questions about this or need help!

parking

There is no vehicle parking on-site at the Copper Whale Inn! If you park behind the buildings, your vehicle will be towed. That parking lot does not belong to the Copper Whale, nor is it a public parking lot that can be used with payment. Parking there is not allowed, for any reason, at any time.

However, there is plenty of parking all around the Copper Whale! Meter parking on the street is free at night and on the weekends. There are several public parking lots within a block that are available with payment via pay boxes or the posted apps on the signage at the lot. There is a parking garage one block away that can be used with payment when exiting the garage (Captain Cook Parking Garage).

Luggage

If arriving before check-in time, or leaving after check-out time, you are welcome to store your luggage in the luggage room in the main lobby. This is a free service. If you need to leave your luggage for more than just the day, we charge $5 per bag, per day.
